Brew extract kits??

Hi does anyone have experience with recipes such as this,

as i want to try brewing something a bit more exciting than a kit but dont have the knowledge or funds to go all grain yet.

Should this make a tastier beer than a bog standard kit?? i liked the look of this as it sends all the ingridients needed bagged and measured rather than trying to source them all eperately.. :grin:

If you are looking for a bit more than a normal kit Try the 'Heart Of England' Design a Brew Range. You basically select your extract bases (1.5Kg of extract per tin so two tins per 5 gallons), then your speciality grain 'tea bags' and finally your finishing hop tea bags. Make your beer the way you want it

Yes, you can make better beer this way and there is room for experimentation with different types and quantities of hops etc. There are a few extract recipes in recipes.php as well.

Yes extract brewing makes a far superior beer to a kit
An analogy I like to use is.
1 can beer kits = vending machine coffee
2 can kits are like instant coffee
Extract brewing is like putting already ground coffee through a filter machine
But all grain is like choosing your own blend of coffee beans, grinding them yourself and then putting the resulting ground blend through your own hand built perculator
