brew enhancer or extra light spray malt

Hi all,gonna start a coopers pale ale i recieved this morning which i ordered yesterday at 3.00pm excellent service from the homebrew company,question is coopers recommend using brew enhancer which i have,i also have 1kg of extra light spray malt ,which would be best to use is there much of a difference? many thanks all :

All spray malt = more body, mouthfeel, but less bitterness because malt counteracts it. ever so slightly less ABV than sugar.

brew enhancer = kits the way they're made to be, can also add more for more abv without affecting body/bitterness.

Thanks for quick reply Rob,dosnt seem much difference then down to personal preference ,think i will go with spray malt ,could i also add some brew enhancer just for the abv, thanks again Rob

Brew enhancer is a mix of sugar and Spraymalt so will improve the body and mouth feel of the brew as well. You will get a much better brew using spraymalt than kit enhancer as there will be no sugar.

sorry to pipe in here.... with a brew kit that has the sugar already included, what would the effect of adding 500gm or 1kg of spray malt ? or what would you add to give it the mouthfeel ?

If you ate brewing a two can kit, there isn't a lot of point adding anything.

If you want a bit more ooomph then brew it short, say 36 pints rather than 40.

That'll give you more feel, more ABV, more flavour and more bitterness all in one hit.

yes, i have been thinking of that, most of the brews have not hit thier abv, ie a 4.5% one came in at 3.4%, the last 2 brews i have done with a more scientific approach with regards to temp and they seem to be, so far, on the mark just as long as they drop far enough on the hydro.

its a shame the woodfordes range and others dont do a one can kit for each of thier 2 can kits so you have the choice
