Abit late in the day 8.15am! But I think i'll stick the HLT on anyway. Mrs. Darcey is out at work and wont be back untill 6 so plenty of time!

Bashed this one out on BeerSmith a few months ago and forgot about it but its the only recipe that I have all the ingredients for so i'll be doing that today then!

Length: 23L

2KG Marris Otter
1kg UK Lager Malt
.100g CaraPils

90min boil
90min - Styrian Goldings - 50g
15min - 40g
0min - 20g

Only realised its similar to Styrian Stunner but that wasnt intentional.

Already cocked up!

Added an extra 1kg of MO to the mash! Must buy bigger scales and more coffee...

So rather than ~4% I am looking at something ~5%.

No more Styrian Goldings so adding some Cascade and fuggles from the part packs I need to be rid of to get the IBU up to balance it abit. May aswel do more of an APA!

Mashed in at 66.6c! 90min mash then sparge time! Wooo!

That's not a problem!

True! 5% isnt exactly a disaster but I means I dont have enough base malt to brew a +4% beer again tomorrow :(

Ah well!

I have always got a bag of malt in the workshop if you ever run short :thumb:

Very generous! I've just had 5kg of Pilsner Malt delivered so that's tomorrows retry of Kolsch sorted! For Oatmeal stout, Darceys Best Bitter and AVRO Ale I have all the speciality grains/malts just need some MO!

No excuse really with Stockport HBS around the corner.. (apart from the rain).

Just turned the IC on! Forgot the add the copper finings at 15mins but bunged em in any how. Should be an hour before its at pitching temp. Just soaking the FV in VWP then wash it out then Star San it.. I am not losing another brew! Looking at about 22l~ @ 1.050 me thinks IBU calculated at 45.

US-05 @ 20c for a week and then check whats going on!

Just checked on it, pitched into a very well aerated wort @ 22c 8 hours later is going at about 4 bubbles a min!

Pray to Arnold the Saint of Beer and Brewers! My kegs are empty make it a good one!

I'm trying to build up stocks at the moment I have over 400 500ml empty bottles and 150 300ml bottles and more coming. I am trying to brew once a month at the moment.
