…clearly still some days further for some entrants to get theirs.

Yeah, I submitted two beers and so far no scores or feedback on either.

I’m not too bothered though because I submitted the same two beers in other competitions and already have the feedback from those - despite being judged later.

Also, I had to wait for weeks for feedback from CAMRA after the Great British Beer Festival so delays are not unknown.

Homebrew clubs tend to do a much better job in general when it comes to organising and running competitions.

Would be useful if folks, when they see their scores, or get their feedback sheets, can quote the table number of their entries, so those of us still in limbo might have a vague idea of how quickly things are being worked through.

I’ve had one of my three back, and it was Table 1.

I have a table 6 and table 11 with no scores yet

32 and 33 for my hefeweisen. Head retention on one bottle was poor and fine on the other. Main criticism was lacked ester character.

Overall, not unreasonable comments. I’d have scored it low 30’s myself. I do like more clove in my hefe’s so I mash & ferment to push the phenols over esters.

Not really a criticism, more a grumble, I got 38 and 36, the judge who gave me 36, gushed about the beer on all the other bits but then gave me 5/10 for overall impression? :laugh8:

Also, im not entirely sure what 'intangibles' mean in this case?
You must have got the same judge that did my witbier at LAB

Table 4 scores posted as my Foreign Extra Stout is now showing...I think IPA's (table 8) are also up as a mate of mine has told me he can see his score.

No scoresheets yet but I'm sure they will follow.

My IPA score isn’t showing yet

I have feedback on my bitter. This was the bitter that got third place from Attic. It scored 30. The main flaw was that it was too fruity throwing out the balance. That will be the Opus hops I suspect because the judges described the fruity character as tangerine.

31 for my Best Bitter. TBH, I'm surprised it scored as well as that. I wasn't even going to enter it as the finished product wasn't where I want it to be and it just didn't want to carb up to where I wanted either for some reason.... Still hubby said 'you've got nothing to lose' and 'you'll get some feedback to improve it' and 'you're shipping anyways'- so off it went. And some great feedback too and I thought the comments were spot on. I really need to work on the water chemistry for ales and bitters.
Still waiting on my pumpkin stout and my 1st place Marzen feedback. I can apparently make great lagers, but still struggling with the bog standard British ales. :laugh8:

I did that with my “kellerbier”. It was a kolsch that refused to clear despite having a long lagering period, so I let some of the carbonation out and changed the category on the last day.
