Just a standard wherry brew here, I'll let everyone know how it turns out

Just an update, curently at 1.016 on the hydro, and the trial jar actually tasted pretty good. Definately not finished, but lots of hop coming through. A few more days and I think it will be ready for bottling.

Done a Wherry myself for my 1st brew which has been kegged for a week now. Going to move out into the garage this weekend to cool down for a couple of weeks before I taste it so i'll be interested to compare. Got a coopers lager on the go now which will have been in FV for a week on Saturday, so another week in there before I bottle that one.

Cheers all,

Alrighty,

Bottled the wherry today. Unfortunately moving it around i managed to stir up most of the trub, definately going to take a while to clear I think! Initial taste from the trial jar is definately a bit weak, but quite hoppy. Next time I might add some DME to the wort, in order to increase the strength, and give some malty flavour. If I used medium/Dark DME do you think I could convince the wherry that it is a best bitter?

Thanks Guys :D

Been in the warm a week, I tried one. Got to say its pretty nice, still a little clound but should settle into a nice brew. I have a second wherry on currently, but for some reason I thought it would be good to put 1kg Dark Spraymalt. Turns out when it gets wet it goes much darker. However a Best Bitter/Stout/porter with the wherry hop fruityness could be quite interesting...
