but my advice, just be patient with it, don't fiddle too much, and if you're happy with your first pint, brew another one soon after because 40 pints doesn't last that long! :
Welcome to the forum. Definitely ignore the timings. Use a hydrometer to know when the beer is ready to bottle (the gravity should stay constant for 3 days). Stand the bottles in the warm for 2 weeks before moving to the cold. Be ready to wait 8 weeks for it to be really, really good. Make sure you keep checking the bottles to see how they are improving with age. And, most of all, have fun. :
