Talking of shares, every council in the country has them and quite a few lost out when all those energy companys went bust, one of the biggest was Warrington
Exactly our lot lost a fortune and they’re still in power. Playing with other peoples money.

That's a silly outlook. Go into a stock exchange see how many ordinary people invest in shares, you will see some who are there all day every day making a living trading shares, there is one guy I have seen in there who wears his carpet slippers!
If it wasn't for investors there wouldn't be jobs.
Investors are the ones taking a chance with their money investing in projects, surely they are entitled to a return?
You may be against investing in the stock market, but inevitably you probably do, insurance companies, superannuation companies even unions invest in the stock market.
Go into any gambling shop (Corals, Ladbookes, BetFred etc etc) and you will see many people looking for a return on their investment! Using your own words “Surely they are entitled to a return.”

How come these people have a recognisable illness, but people who gamble on the Stock Market apparently do not?

So... anyone who has a pension say, or even investing and saving their money. We are all pimps and prostitutes?
One of my mates put a lot of money into his pension plan. The phrase “It is an equitable life Henry.” kind of soured when he found that the £3,000 per month he was promised had gone down to £400 per month! I don’t think he trusts people not to rip him off nowadays; and I try to emulate his lack of trust!

So stuck in your old ways, as usual.

Financial planning is nothing to do with morals. I would say it is being morally responsible. Effective financial planning will mean people are less likely to rely on the state for handouts.
In my experience, “Financial Planning = Let Someone Else Look After My Money”!

The Police even ran adverts to put people off by showing a man on water-scooter laughing like mad ‘cos he was enjoying someone else’s pension!

Many Pensioners have been ripped off by their Financial Planners and “Ring Fencing” pensions is now a myth. I suggest that you look up “Mirror Group + Robert Maxwell” or “BHS + Philip Green” and you will see a pattern.

To misquote a previous Post, “Surely they deserved a pension!” and to ensure that they got something, the Tax Payer bailed them out!

I wonder where the Stock Exchange was?

All governing bodies play with other peoples money. Gordon Browns cabinet probably the worst. Labour voters have short memories.
I suggest you read the following before using Tory lies about Gordon Brown and “other people’s money”!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chancellorship_of_Gordon_Brown
Mr Brown did a lot more good for UK subjects than the Tory who is currently attempting to become Prime Minister!

BTW, some of us have long memories; especially those who have lived through times that were much better before this bunch of numpties took over!

Unfortunately there isn't a betting shop in the town I live in so can't comment on
the first part.

Unfortunately there are a lot of scams out there and don't trust anyone else with my money, not even my bank, and do all my own research and investments.

But sometimes there is a sure way of making money, like investing in shares with energy companies, sometimes it pays to follow the big money, you never know you may earn a small buck. We all have our own opinions but remember we are never always right despite life's experience telling us that we mostly are .
