Hi there,
It has been a while since I brewed and I may have made a serious error.....I hope someone can clarify:

I am brewing Muntons Gold IPA.
First stage of fermentation has gone well.
In my persuit of a nice clear beer, I have decanted the beer in to a second vessel from where I intend to bottle the brew. To this second vessel I have added one sachet of beer finings.

My intention was to leave this second vessel to settle for 2-3 days and then bottle, adding light spray malt for secondary ferment in the bottle.

My question is..........have I ruined the brew with the addition of finings at this stage??
Will the addition of finings prevent the secondary fermentation??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Relax you haven't ruined it
Even after fining there will still be many (hundreds of) thousands of yeast cells in suspension that will convert your spray malt into the CO2 that you are after :thumb:
It will though take longer to condition than if you hadn't fined, but there will be a lot less sediment in the bottle

Thanks for your clarification tubby.
I was worried that the addition of the finings would reduce the level of yeast to such a level that the secondary fermentation would fail.

Thanks again :D
