Hi all,

I’m sure this has been asked plenty of times (used the search but cannot find an answer) but would anyone be able to tell me once a brew is bottled how long it will last? Does it have to be consumed within a certain timeframe?

I bottled a load in february this year, had 2/3 at the weekend and they tasted really nice. If u keep them somewhere cool and dark i reckon theyd be ok for at least twelve months

I was thinking 12 months also so thats good.

I have around 6 brews I want to kick off you see so dont want to have drink 240 pints in the same month before they go south

240 in one month would be some going! i Bottled mine in feb because i wanted them to mature for xmas, got 40 bottles of beer, 80 lager and 50 cider.....good times ahead!

My cider is in PET bottles and are fine at the mo. Kegs are ok, Corny kegs are brilliant but expensive. The budget Barrels are ok but if youve got a leak, air will get in and wreck your beer in no time.

Well I tried a cheeky bottle last week and oh my gosh its good!!!!

Dont plan on drinking any now till July, its my olympic brew

I find the secret is to keep a constant supply, I brew every other week so don't run out. Only bottle occasionally though.

Same, I seem to always have a brew on now, my main worry is where to put it in once its ready to be bottled / Kegged :)

I dont seem to have much luck with kegs so have been going down the bottle route. Have been asking people to save them for me and have got some off ebay...........got another 40 turning up on wednesday which I got for a good price.

Most of my beers go into polypins which suit the style of beers I like, not to gassy, but I'm looking to bottle more.

Don't buy bottles EL, I can get a plenty foc and I'm only in Hockley so it wouldn't be too far for you to pick them up.
