Afternoon lovely people  my first brew (youngs bitter) will be ready in a few days, plan is to add sugar to the king keg, add the brew, (do I give it a stir? ) then decant to 18 bottles and leave the rest in the keg to do it's thing, question is, do I need to fill the remaining head space with co2 ? Thanks in advance,

I would dissolve the sugar in some boiling water first (to sterilise) then add that to the keg, and then syphon the beer onto that so it gets well mixed. If you are only leaving 20-odd pints in the keg, I would add CO2 and then about two days later, let a little out the cap (CO2 is heavier than air, so the air will be purged out leaving the CO2.
