Hello,

Just wondering where you guys are getting your brown 500ml bottles from? I've come across this outfit and they seem well priced. One of their sales team also assured me that the bottles are good for withstanding conditioning pressures.

I had intended to collect x100 or so bottles from shop bought beers, but I'm sick to the back teeth with getting the labels off - so have stopped shy at around x40. Timothy Taylor's Landlord is ace for getting the labels off, but not overly keen buying x60 more of them!

if you like erdinger or other german wheat beers their labels soak off in hot water, no effort at all. plus they are suitable for higher carbed beer/cider :thumb:

I leave the labels unless they are getting really scruffy or peel off very easily. Wire wool is good for scrubbing the labels off. Don't do all your bottles in one go though! I'll scrub two or three while I'm drinking or the next day.

Malt Miller for 500ml pet bottles. Then as above for reusing bottles. Those new nylon labels are a right pain that most seem to be using nowadays. Don't they realise there are some of us who need to get the things off?

Put down where you are, you may find someone near you who wants to get rid of some.
I use Old Moot bottles which I can get hold of from a bar nearly me, labels fall off them after an over night soak.

Yeah I give them a good hot soak. Like mentioned you soon find out which labels come off was. Magners or those Swedish ciders
I've just spoken with a barman at work and he can get me loads of Magners ones. Do the labels come off no bother with an overnight soak?

I don't bother taking the labels off and recycle the bottles from supermarket beer I've drunk.

I've found an overnight soak in oxiclean and most labels will just fall off in the bucket, (+ it helps get them clean easier).

I just kept an eye on local second hand listings to get bottles, recently picked up 80 brown swing-tops for £25 with another 60 matching brown 500ml crown cap bottles thrown in for free. Often people just want to get rid of them, especially if they're a bit dirty/dusty etc.
