Bottles for Beer

I am not yet ready to go the full keg route, but was thinking of using bottles for the beer. I had in mind to use the bottles where there is a pop-top that you open by pushing on a silver lever under the head of the beer bottle (this is a bottle type of traditional beers in Switzerland and Germany - 0.5 liter bottles). The caps are usually a white ceramic and there is an orange rubber seal.

If you know what I am very poorly describing, would these work for bottling beer?

that really depends on lots of factors. If it's starting to crack, or becoming inflexible, then replace it
