Hi guys,
Thanks for the replys to my previous question.
Now another question- Should I bottle or keg my brew?
Just checked the hydrometer reading and it's reading 1.010, probably should give it another few days you think?
I made the brew on Saturday.
Thanks again,
Mark.

Depend what you like Mark, I do both. ;)

Keg is easier and quicker to fill, if you have one, then you might need some gas, but not so good to take somewhere and I personally drink more when there is a keg around, :nono: but thats just me, tend to have "just one more half."

I really like "proper " bottled beer, we are not talking commercial stuff here, ;) bit more time involved to do, but quite satisfying, good for long term storage and easier to ration. ;) I always take a crate or two camping ;) :D

Its a bit like a Chinese or an Indian dinner :?

Personally I bottle

I've a ready supplier of pint bottles
I'm quite happy to spend an hour bottling 23 litres (thats all it takes when you get organised)
A decent bench mounted capper makes bottling easy
I can give a bottle or two away to mates and playing about with labels makes the bottles look even better
I've started to build up a store of bottled beers and can bring a few at a time up to the house from 'The Den' brewery
once you've used them once and got labels off etc they clean up quickly
Batch priming and a Brupacks bottling stick make bottling easier
Can chuck a box in the car when going on holiday/party etc

those 'kegging' will give their reasons and you can then decide :thumb:

I keg but, bottle forced carbonated beer from the cornie to give away or take away. I never managed to bottle properly always flat or a gusher and nothing in between.

I bottle my high gravity stuff because I don't trust myself with it on tap. All my other beers go on tap. You can't beat the ease of kegging but taking a sixer of bottles to someone is also nice. I brewed a lot more when I was bottling because I could just keep tucking them in a corner and taking some out when I wanted one. With kegs, I've only got 7 total so I can't just keep brewing and brewing. Only room for 2 on tap anyway.

So my answer: both have their place!

Personally I prefer to bottle as I find I get better results.

I think I would have to invest in some expensive kegs to get comparable results. Cheap stuff doesn't seem to hold gas for any time.

personally i keg my ales and bottle my lagers
i have 5 kegs and 5 corlies that i use for the ales through my bar set up
but i bottle lagers as i find it easier to get cood carbonation
