Strange innit, the difference between being unemployed and retired :!:

I'm retired and love it, just so busy doing allsorts, even in winter, quite a bit of decorhating (despite not particularly liking decorhating), getting out gardening/fishing/long walks with binoculars, always have something on the go, brewing of course, planning holidays particularly cruises, bowling season about to start next week and thats before I get on to the list of jobs MrsC has for me

Flat or crown?
Our club is probably going to fold after the 2013 season, won't be able to afford to renew the lease. I was assured of a place on the team there, but won't be if I have to switch to the cricket club's green.
And that green was a major source of elderberries for wine, too.

Hang in there mate, something will come up, just keep the faith.

I've been made redundant 4 times in my life, went through the usual phases of "why me", "bastards!", "I must be crap", etc. but keep in mind that it's their loss and you have all sorts of skills that people are crying out for. You just need to find the right organisation. It's a great opportunity to move up.

Sorry to hear that mate. I like the fact that you haven't hung around but it can be a pain sitting and waiting for the phone to ring. Hopefully something will turn up sooner rather than later.

Can only hope something comes along, as others have said at least your not sitting on your arse.

problem is i havn't had a job last for a long time (not due to myself) but it really gets you down this job has only lasted 7 months or so last job was 2 years
i would eventually like to buy a house get a morgage but if things carry on like this i would be foolish to do so i would loose everything
my skill base was electronics but i've been out of it for so long i cant get back into it now other than that its just skills i have picked up here and there nothing on paper (thats what everybody asks for paper qualifications to proove you can do it)

when you sign on tell them you had an offer of a sparks job but needed 17th edition , they will suddenly provide a course all for free

but they will not offer till you say you missed out on it due to no paperwork

i waited for them to offer, and when i told them the above a miracle happened and "ooh look a course for you"

17th Edition would certainly be worth doing, especially for free :thumb: The other one to go for would be Potable Appliance Testing or PAT.

Being laid off is awful happened to me a few times, last in first out or not cut out for the job. I agree with the others get on a course. My first course didn't pan out but my second did and been employed ever since.

good luck

Hope something comes along soon for you Sledge, Get out there and apply for many jobs, the laws of averages take over then :thumb:
