I have a driving turn tomorrow on the GCR. (05:45 start)
It is the winter Gala and I've just been sent a 17 page operating manual.
I must read and inwardly digest by tonight, so I'm taking it to the pub with me! (hope the memory cells keep functioning)

I'm sure you know it all anyway Jim!
Have fun on the Cromwell :thumb:
And have you got a wood chock for that one?
I have found some hard wood lying around if you still need some :thumb:
Sorry I can't be there :(

Of course you can Eddie, but there is a queue.
Not only that, I have to have the right turn with the right fireman!
Out of respect to my wife I only do every second sunday with a much longer break at Xmas and New year.
I end up doing about 20 turns a year as I am not rosterd every fortnight.
Out of these 20 turns I have to do approx 8 Drive a Loco experience where the punters pay the railway for the priveledge, no room for passengers!
Afternoon turns are a waste of time as you don't get involved with the light up and prep, the major interest, mostly do earlies anyway!
MD fell just lucky, he'd invited me round for a brewday and it just happend that I could give a fairly quick return match.
Don't despair, despite all above it does happen.
