Bitterness?

Can anyone tell me the difference between IBU and EBU or is it the same?

Using Qbrew it gives me a bitterness reading in IBU
And using Beer Engine it gives me a bitterness reading in EBU

International / European Bittering units and they are the same . . . But as the 'standard' was proposed by the European Brewing Convention they should be more correctly known as EBU
