Hello all. I recently discovered four trees bearing very tempting black berries on my cycle in to work. In passing I thought they might be Elderberries but on closer inspection I'm now pretty positive they're Bird Cherry trees (Prunus padus).
Has anyone ever come across a recipe for making these into wine? I believe (and can confirm after eating one) that they are quite astringent but edible and not desperately unpleasant, and I read that only the stone is poisonous. Anyway, there's plenty there to make a good sized brew so my fingers are crossed.
Looking forward to some wisdom on the matter.
Thanks :thumb:
