Hi There folks - just a quicky. has anybody got any experience of using a Bielmeier stainless steel mull wine cooker as a wort boiler? The mull wine cookers have 1800watt element which is closed off from the main vessel so in theory you could use it as a mash tun - here's a link if anyone is interested http://www.bielmeier-hausgeraete.com/en ... 695-5.html . I am particularly interested in establishing whether or not this cooker/boiler will maintain a decent rolling boil of 20 liters + of wort - any tips or experiences would be gratefully received. Cheers

It seems an expensive option. A burco or a buffalo urn would be a cheaper option. As for using as a mash tun I doubt a thermostat would hold a constant temp, bearing in mind fluctuations of a few degrees can make a huge difference with a mash.

Thanks for the replies folks - I will investigate these boilers a little further, although initial investigations do seem to suggest that they are pretty well made and the concealed element should be able to keep the wort at a decent rate of boil.
