US05 is probably the most recognised - that's supposedly the chico strain from Sierra Nevada. But it depends what characteristics you want because US05 is renowned to have very little character.

I find BRY-97 great. Very little lag, vigorous fermentation and better flocculation than US-05.

Not sure that subbing the yeast will make that much difference and suggest that dry-hopping with some US hops will be best place to invest

I plan to dry hop with Citra and Cascade and want a yeast that mimics a U.S style IPA

CML Kentucky. I have only used it for a hoppy EPA so far but it really let the hops shine.

I second this. It’s my favourite yeast of the 3 main dry “west coast” yeasts.
