I've got a brew of Santa's winter warmer in the FV just now. Will move it to another FV in a day or two, then bottle the following weekend. Will be a while before I know what it tastes like though

found it for you! http://home-brew-online.myshopify.com/products/milestone-brewery-beer-kit-donner-blitzed
I use this company for all my homebrewing stuff, very quick delivery and excellent customer service, they are on ebay aswell but it looks as though this kit is only avalable direct from their site.

Have you considered Beers of the World - Christmas Ale?
http://www.thethriftyshopper.co.uk/brew ... r-kit.aspx

I brewed one of their Düsseldorf Alt kits and my German girlfriend was really impressed, tasted just like the alt beers in Germany! Unlike standard kits, the beers of the world kits come with speciality grains and hops, so its pretty much a simple extract kit rather than a can kit. Having said that it is expensive at £12 for 10 Litres.

I have a Santas Winter Warmer kit in the bottle now, slowly maturing for Christmas and beyond. It took over a month to ferment and even then did not get down to 1.010 (ended at 1.014). Had a taste when syphoning it into the bottles, not overly impressed.

I have never made the Brewferm kit, but their other kits are very good, best Tripple kit I have found to date.

My advice? if you want something really good either get a good recipy and do a full extract brew buying the ingredients (as I will for my next Düsseldorf Alt), or go Beers of the World.

After 6 days the SWW is still at 1020 :hmm:

Going to give it a stir up tonight and see how it goes a few days after that.

This will be the first time I've done secondary fermenting, and I'm hoping it will produce a nice clear beer at the end :drink:

mines started at 1040 then got stuck around 1020, gave it a stir and pitched another yeast, after nearly 3 weeks it was only down to 1012 and it stayed at that for around 3 days so i just bottled it, as i said above it tastes and smells nice and beery, about 3.7% which aint too bad.

Thanks guys, ill be sure to check them out :D

Sometimes it can help lower gravity more and increase bubbling by adding a bit of beer enhancer when you stir.

I've got a brewday post about this - long story short, after 11 days it's stuck at just over that magic 1020 yours stuck at - despite a couple of good stir-ups to try and oxygenate it and reactivate the yeasties - so pitched in a pack of S04 tonight and will see if that helps

thought i would post a quick update, tried the dasher the flasher tonight, bottled on 1st september, and its tremendous, lovely deep red, maroon colour, some head when pouring, and head retention is the best i've had from any of my kits, good lacing right the way up the glass, nice smell and it tastes superb after being bottled just under 6 weeks, cant wait to have a bottle on xmas day. im not an ale drinker at all, bought this kist to give my old man and his mates a few bottles at xmas, i dont think that will be happening now!
