hi brewers

quick question when's the best time to dry hop
in the primary stage of fermentation or after racking into the secondary
any advice will help

I just add them to the primary once the foam has died down (usually 5-7 days), leave for a week then rack off to another fermenter prior to kegging/bottling

That will be fine, but depending how you add them you might need to rack off again before bottling.
What I do is add my hops loose in the primary as described above (you can use a hop bag to contain them but I've read that you get better utilisation putting them in loose), then after a week I syphon off to another fermenter with a small hop bag over the end of my racking cane and sediment trap.

No worries, hope it goes well. Any other questions ask away, there's always plenty of helpful people about
