Have just bought a load of brew stuff from a car boot, mainly bought it for the pressure barrels, but included in the lot were 2 Geordie Lager kits, both with best before dates of Dec. 1999.

Should I just chuck these out? Or will they be ok with new yeast?

Many thanks

Rather than spend money on brew enhancer, why not brew them together with no extra sugar? They're likely to be fine, highly concentrated sugar keeps well and cheap kits use hop extract, no aroma hops so you won't miss much!

thanks for the reply,
Can I just double check what you mean?

Instead of adding beer enhancer or sugar, I brew it as if it were a 2 tin kit?
Would I also need new yeast, or would the yeast from these kits be ok?

Many thanks, Andy

Check the cans are not bulging at the ends, if they arnt then it will probably be fine
