Oh dear.
I only had one pack of the Young's 2 part liquid finings and was reluctant to use it up on this one gallon, so I've stuck the Bentonite in when it's all done, degassed, and stabilised.

Did you mix it with a wee bit of the brew to make a slurry before adding? I think that improves how it clears.

I have used it on a WOW and it did take about 2-3 weeks I think.

I was hoping to neck some of this stuff on Sunday!
Oh well.
It does seem at least as clear as before I put it in, already.
We'll see.
Not like I don't have a rack full of other stuff we can glug.

It does take time. I would chuck in your two part now and go buy some more for your next brew. That way it will clear in time for the weekend. Your only talking about a quid or so.

Nah, it's more than a quid - p&p or a drive that'd cost as much. I won't buy more until I have a bundle of stuff to buy. This gallon can wait, I'm not really in a hurry, though I'll need to find somewhere to put it to make room for the parsnip and carrot wines I want to start next week.

really??? 2-3 weeks???
thats no good as just added it to 3 lots of WOW and was hoping to bottle it this weekend...
what do people recommend then for clearing instead??

Kwik clear is the best I have tried by miles. The stuff works virtually overnight and you only use 2ml of each agent per gallon. Very cost effective stuff :)

Kwick Clear cleared my WOW in about 48 hours. I don't usually bother though, I just let it do it by itself.

Is it a powder or a liquid as not used it before
and can you reuse it as that states for 270 litre

It's liquid, it states 270L as there is enough solution in the bottles to treat 270L. The pack contains 2 small bottles of liquid, only 2ml is used from each bottle at a time, hence why it goes such a long way. You will need a syringe though.

My Bentonite-2-days-ago stuff looks crystal now, think I'll bottle it tomorrow

Sounds like job done then :D

Looks like I will need to try using it again. Wonder what when wrong when I used it.

Glad it worked well for you OB.

Ive never had problems with bentonite either luckily as Its the only finings I can use as the mrs is a veggie.
Just make sure you slowly poor the bentonite into a mug of wine or water first and let it sit for abit before adding back to the gallon. Works a charm
