I'm after some of this for my belgian style brews and a dutch friend has offered me some Van Gilse Schenkstroop. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it the right thing? All the descriptions I can find on Google are in dutch. Otherwise I can just use it for pancakes...

Just used some in my Belgain triple clone (purchased from the Malt Miller, see forum sponsor link above). It tastes fantastic! Some of the famous Belgian breweries use it, some don't (read Brew Like a Monk). I don't think it is essential, but I wanted to get as close as possible to what the Belgian beer I was trying to clone was made from.
