please can you help if the below question is right i need to order my barrels monday

question 1 ive been given a tip that on the finnsh of the beers fermention to put beer straight into some 22 litre plastic jerry cans with no carbonate.of any sort and to top up with c02 and put a lid on

question 2 if above is ok will the small c02 bulbs be ok the ones that fit into the lids or the s30 valve

question 3 will beer store in barrels uncarbonated like this for a few months if it will how do i best way too carbonated it when i iver pressur barrel or bottle

generally once fermentation is complete folk either bottle/keg or transfer to a 2ndary FV or brite tank to aid the clarity by standing in the cold for a day or two and perhaps with a finnings too. Then its into the bottle PB or keg to condition.

if using bottles or pb's then the only real option to condition the beer is to add a priming charge to let the yeast feed in a warmer environment for upto 2 weeks.

Once conditioned the beer can be shelved and matured for as long as you like, lower gravity beers may start to thin out after 6-9months as the complex sugars are slowly broken down by the residual yeast, but higher gravity beers will really benefit form the longer maturation.

If you use kegs, corny or sankey, then the further option of conditioning with pressure or force conditioning is available, it is feasable to force condition in a PB BUT in order to succeed you will need to maintain a cold temperature and kep the barrel maintained at its maximum pressure so keep topping up till the prv blows. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...M8-kSKjo26ur1iyUdS-nxpA&bvm=bv.79189006,d.ZGU

but without a real keg and a proper co2 management system which will let you maintain a steady known pressure in the keg for 5-10 days at the correct temperature attempting force conditioning with a pb and lil bulbs will be both expensive and probably a waste of good beer.
