S-04 Yeast

It's bottled and carbonated, brewed on the 26th august, and I usually drink stuff young. But a few weeks on it smells like farts, hahah. It's a really good beer aside from that, any ideas? I've only used Bramling Cross once before so could that be related?

Other than that, I thought it may be the high crystal/chocolate malt concentration at a young age, as I'm usually about 90% pale on the bill...

Sulphur smell during or just after fermentation is usually a byproduct of yeast. Lager yeasts do it for me and sometimes wheat or Belgian. But I can't say I've ever gotten it with S04. It's usually very clean. You aren't even a month out yet so I wouldn't be overly concerned at this point. How long did you leave the beer in the FV? Giving the yeast some time, post fermentation, helps to clean up some of those extra compounds.

Now, if you are talking months down the road from fermentation, then it's usually some sort of infection that's generating the odor.

Just my thoughts,

I have 23 litres of Better brew Premium I.P.A that smells the same. In fact yours can't smell worse, its a nauseating stomach turning smell I have got. Strange because it was the middle one of 3 of these lits I made and the other two are absolutely fine.
This brew started to smell directly the yeast started to work and continued till bottling. I tasted it after 6 weeks in the bottle..... The smell on opening the bottle is still there but somewhat reduced ( still nauseating tho ) The full brew has been boxed up and buried till after Christmas before I dare risk opening another bottle. Or until I'm desperate for bottles when it will be disposed off.
The strange thing is...the brew tastes and looks good, you just can't get it past your nose....
