Has anybody achieved this? I suppose it's all in the taste buds of the beholder what the perfect pint tastes like.
Or is there a beer that you can recommend which is near as damn it as good as it gets?

For beer kit number 2 I shall be making some Nelsons revenge, if its half as good as the shop bought NR I have on the go I will be very happy.

What's your favourite?

Kits?

For me I'd say Muntons Midas Touch, dry hopped for 14 days with East Kent Goldings. As good nearly anything I've been served in a pub.

AG - quite a few as it goes... But that's probably just because I made them myself...

Shop bought: Butt's Barbus Barbus. The most well rounded, perfectly executed, easy drinking beer you could ever buy.

Having loved Oakhams Citra in bottles I have brewed a few times with Citra and think I got pretty close to perfection with this.

Citra 2.
A 15 litre brew. I used a BIAB method.

3kg Maris Otter
300g wheat malt
200g crushed crystal

68C mash for 90 minutes.

Hops
60 minutes 20g Northern brewer @ 9% AA
15 minutes 20g Citra @ 14.8% AA + 1 teaspoon Irish Moss
Flameout and wait to cool to 90C 30g Citra

Gervin GV12 (Nottingham) yeast

15g Citra dry hop @ 10 days

OG was 1051

I have described it in my notebook as "sharp, zesty and intense"
I only have 5 bottles left :(

That's the beauty of this hobby, you find your favourite, then do a few more brews, then find another favourite....

I'm just sampling Brew No.37 a Bavarian Weisbier and OMG is it good, a BrewUK Extract kit:

But I'm sure in a while I'll find a new favourite: like Duxuk I love Oakhams Citra and have a brew nearly ready that I'm hoping will be close.
