Hi all,

I've just made my own kegerator and was wondering if it's normal for the gas line to lose a small amount of pressure when the CO2 tank is in the off position. The pressure gauge for the tank is holding however over the course of the day the low pressure gauge has fallen by approx 1 psi. It was on 25psi yesterday evening and now it's just hovering above 24 psi. Is this normal or have I got a small leak on my gas line?

ps. The gas line isn't connected to a keg.

It could be cooling, if so it will stabilise. If it's a small leak it will continue dropping.
The volume that you have pressurised is so small that a minute leak could easily show on your gauge over time.
Just make a mild solution of washing water and squirt it over all the pipe joints and around the reg, small leaks will create bubbles.

That sounds pretty good to me.
You could have a very small leak or it could be fluctuation due to temperature changes.
I don't usually worry until it drops to zero in a few hours with it all turned off.
I don't leave my gas on all of the time just in case there is a small leak, I just turn it on when needed and then shut it off again (if I remember :))

I have one of the six port soft drink manifolds that has seen better days and needed some extra shut off valves to make it pretty leak tight.

Thanks for your responses. Think I'll just leave it. Tried the soap solution but no signs of a leak, so I'll just leave it and turn the gas tank off at the end of each use. Thanks again for your advise. :thumb:
