Hi All.

Warning: PDF

Found this while trawling the internet for some different information.

I think I might take more care next time I use it.

The same goes for any other caustic substances; Antiformin, etc

I know all about the post injury eczema

Caustic of any kind is not nice . . . It loves making soap out of the oils on your skin . . . Including the lipids that make up cell membranes.

H&S would love to see me decanting from my 25L Jerry Can of Antiformin into a 2L jug . . . The Jerry Can is on a Shelf in the shed . . . at 5 Feet high . . . no I don't lift it down (I've risk assessed the lift as too bloody dangerous with my back) . . . I've only had one big spill . . . And had to throw away a load of tools.

If you are the type to become complacent . . . stick to standard homebrew preparations and leave the proper stuff to those that will deal with it properly

I've been caught out a few times, although usually using stuff that isn't generally available to the general public. Ruined a few pairs of jeans too.

I love that feeling of your hand turning to soap :nono:

Was at Rolls Royce works bar in Derby when they served my mate a blackcurrant and lemonade made from pruple line cleaner!  :nono:

Luckily it did not ruin his drinking for the night.

There are quite a few 'no rinse' sanitisers available from farmers stores, so to speak.
Acidified iodophor cleaners are used as bulk milk tank 'no rinse' sanitisers, and they are much cheaper than the stuff sold for home brew purposes...larger demand I guess.

I've been sniffing around the farmers store. They're all brand names though, so I don't really want to walk round getting a list of names to look up on the Internet. I'd probably end up reported and put in Guantanamo bay or something these days :!:
