Hi all

I have to say i have just finished drinking my Coopers lager from a kit, i have to say that i know alot of people dont really like kits but i was VERY impressed with the pints i have had....all of them had a good head, and tasted gorgeous...just wanted to let everyone know lol cheers everyone

Hi Chris,
yep, kits ain't too bad but progress onto extract brews and all grain is the way forward!
I've got 3 kits on the go at the moment (woodfordes old nog, muntons old english ale and muntons gold stout) but will be getting back into extract/AG soon!

kits are good, after all they are what got us all started in brewing. I can recomend the EDME IRISH STOUT kit, buy it, make it and enjoy it, you wont be disapointed.

I've been very happy with the kits I've done since getting back in to home brewing.
The two can kits have been quite impressive....and I've found it is worth spending a bit extra on spray malt and steeping some speiciality grains and hops to improve one can kits.

I'll tell you if AG is the way forward in about 3 weeks when I get to taste my first brew
I must admit to having two really fun brew days though whatever they turn out like

At yesterdays homebrew comp (Matchfest) an AG beer won, but kit beers were joint 2nd and 3rd ;)

One had been dry hopped and had had elderflower added, the other I think was out of the box.

Hi

I have brewed a few tin kits and all have been great,I agree with the coopers larger which was very nice ( i added a slice and zest of a lemon and lime ).Also brewed a youngs bitter and edme stout all very nice as long as you can stand to leave them alone to condition for 4 weeks.
I have just put my Imperial Muntons Stout ( a two tin jobbie )in my corny and that tastes out of this world. Also just got me another coopers and used golden syrup and brought bottled still water instead of using tap water ( its all about experimenting, you dont just have to brew as it states on the tin )

Good luck with future brews :thumb:

It's great to read about someone else who is having a blast with kits. I'm still on my first, but spend waaaaaay too much time thinking about the next one I'm going to get.
Woodforde's Wherry is definitely on my Christmas list.
