Hiya

My beer (wherry kit) has gone flat in the KingKeg after about 3 weeks. It only got better up til now and every pint I poured tasted more well rounded.

I hadn't had a pint of it for a few days and today I've poured one and it has zero head or life.
Would a Co2 canister improve it do you think? It tastes OK but I would say not as good as a week ago...

thanks!

If you haven't been adding co2 no wonder it's gone flat. You need to add co2 to take the space of the beer you are drinking. If you have a valve on the lid add some. That will get your head back. :D

Excellent thanks for answering that. I ddn't know I was meant to do that.

Quick question, I think it's an S30 valve does that mean I only need to buy something like this and it will just screw in?

cheers

I tend to give my KKs a 1 second blast of CO2 after filling-this helps me to check the keg is sealed & make sure the float & tap are working properly. It also purges the air from the float line & lets me check the pressure relief valve is seated right.I also check again a couple of hours later to make sure the barrel is holding pressure.

cheers for replies. Is there a chance it is getting oxidated (oxidised?) in the mean time? I don't have a LHBS nearby so will have to order online which will take a few days...

:wha:
