What should the beer taste like from the Fv I always taste it when I take a sample to read the FG .. should it taste like the beer you've made? I assume it should. Just less fizzy. The sample tasted today had a fair amount of trub in it.so I'm hoping the next sample is better. It wasnt pleasant.
How much would it change when its bottled and conditioned?
 
It gives you an idea, but don't underestimate the importance of carbonation and temperature in influencing your beer's flavour. You also won't be transferring the trub over. Yeast does not taste nice.

Samples usually taste alright but not really representative of the final beer.
 
I made a Mangrove Jacks APA and tasted one that had carbed but not conditioned and it wasn't pleasant but not unpleasant if you know what I mean, conditioned it for a week and tried it today and it is fantastic

How long has it been in there? How strong is it? You want to give the yeast a chance to complete it’s clean up before bottling.
 
Don't be surprised if it tastes horrible. Especially after a dry hop. Extremely bitter and sharp will eventually (with time) turn into a potentially award winning beer. Like everything in life, time is often the best thing.

As well as carbonation as already mentioned. Makes a HUGE difference.
 
That's how I find it. Tastes bitter from the sample. I nearly always dry hop though so it's not surprising.
The aroma at bottling gives me more of an idea how it's going to taste after conditioning.
 
Time can do magic for beer. I have tasted beer just before bottling, that I though I would have to pour down the drain - 4-6 weeks later it has improved massively. Unless it is infected, bottle it, give it bit of time.
