Hi Krazy
As always with minor bits, delivery charges can be a killer. I just renewed the pipe on my beer engine. Distance between the engine and the check valve 50 to 60cm, so I just wanted a metre of new hose. I found buying on Ebay with delivery included the cheapest option:

The check valve has a 3/8" stem, with a connector for 3/8" beer line. [Edit: That's the inlet. Outlet is 1/2"]. That's pretty much standard for connecting kegs etc. If you're connecting the polypin using the nozzle of the tap that comes with it, you'll find 1/2" or 12mm ID hose is too wide. A simple 'step-down' series of pipes is needed, something like:
I use these to connect taps with different diameter spouts to my 3/8 beer line. They may look a bit naff, but they're pretty much trouble free. The one in the foreground has 1/2" ID pipe to connect to drum taps - much bigger spouts than those on polypins. Hope that gives you a steer.
Cheers
Chris
