That old chestnut...

have made some bread with about 250ml fermenting beer. All good so far so I hope the very active yeast will have it rising! will post the results later, it's proving now :cheers:
 
How long do you reckon it will need to prove?

Ale yeast and bread yeast are the same species as bread yeast was developed from ale yeast. In ye olden days the krausan or 'barm' was added to the bread leven to aid rising. the expression Barm Cake meaning someone mad is from the baking as when barm was added to the bread leven or sponge it went mad.
