I won't bore you with the excuses, suffice it to say I have 46 litres of beer at 1009. giving an abv. 6 %. Not a bad thing some may say :)
I was aiming for 5.4 %, that's enough for me ;)
I am unsure about adding boiled water, it will need about 4 litres to get it down :?
Question is, do I add water at this stage and mess up the characteristics, or put up, with it  and take my time drinking it ;)

drink smaller glases of it thats what you do with barley wine and imperial russian stout
all strong drinks are smaller measures . so just drink halfs or if you prefer a nip , no harm its your beer do what you want with it as its to please you not anyone else.
you could try to water down a glass and see if you still like it that will give you a clue as what seems best for you

dam ive just tipped 20 pints done the sink as it was flat we could have come to some arangement

flat can allways have a remedy its when it tastes bad that you throw it or got an infection cant think of any other reason why I would throw it ( opps bad smell made me thow one away)

You could consider sending us all samples for analysis

 cs

I'd advise putting up with it, drink it sensibly and learn from your mistakes.

Yes I'm going to leave it as it is, I was going to bottle the lot but I will fill a cornie and then it could be mixed with a lesser brew if needs be. :)
done the sink
Thats always the last resort as TT says.

:hmm: could do but don't hold you breath out there

I'd advise putting up with it
Don't think it will to much of a hardship and I have someone local in mind who might like some for sampling purposes if I can't hack it  (Sorry CS )

is .6 of a percent really that much difference
Much more acceptable in my opinion if we were around 4.5%, but on top of 5.5 % that's quite a bit for me..........but I'm willing to give it a go after some thought. :D
Thanks for the help

Panic over ;) Only been in the cornie for 5 days but tried a drop tonight, very good indeed, needs a bit more time but the "high" alcohol level really was not a problem, the full body of the brew carried it off a treat. :D

P.S. definitely no sample available
