Made my brew last Sunday, 9th Jan

Haven't seen a single bubble rise through the airlock since.

The lid of the FV seems to have bowed upwards a little but, apart from that, no apparent activity at all.

Have I done something wrong, should it be bubbling?

What temperature do you have it at? It's possible there's not a proper seal, so gas is escaping. What are you brewing and have you looked inside the FV to see if there's any yeast head or fizzing going on?

Did you take a gravity reading? If you did it should have dropped a few points .....it`s probably an untight lid letting the co2 escape. But as ceejay said what temp was the wort and what yeast did you pitch and how? Was it a kit?

Any other info would help

It's a kit ... Coopers lager.

First time brewing anything so don't know what I can and can't do 'safely' while it's fermenting.

Anyhoo, I've looked in the FV and the wort is indeed fizzing/bubbling and there is a brownish 'head' on it.

It's been at around 18c for most of the time but could possibly have dropped below that.

Open the lid and stick your nose in - if you dont get a huge whaft and a tingle in your nose its not fermenting.

As 31bb3 has said trying stiring the yeast and getting it warmer.

Shaken it, stirred it and put it a little closer to the radiator.

Looks and smells like it might be doing something.

Onwards!

Im brewing from a coopers kit at the moment too. I started mine on Tuesday 4th Jan and it didnt start bubbling until Sunday 9th. Now its been bubbling for the last 5 days. Im sure yours will start bubbling soon too.
