I've been giving this inexpensive (£20) kit a boost by adding 2ltrs of Vitafit apple, 1ltr Vitafit pineapple, 1ltr Vitafit orange and 1ltr Vitafit mixed grape juice all from Lidl and taking the level up to 28ltrs in the FV. All are 100% juice, and I add an extra 500g of sugar alongside the standard instructions. Fermentation is vigorous to say the least  it's like watching a tornado in the FV which is almost full :D

I get an inch of sediment after about 8-9 days, rack off, then follow furthur instructions to clear and so far (three lots done) I've achieved really tasty results with an end product around 12% in 36 bottles

Its nice to hear that these kits can be improved by the addition of a few litres of juice. I still have two of these kits in my brewing shed waiting to be made up but I haven't yet bothered because of the negative feedback previously given to them.

What does it taste like now that it has been bottled.

I'm glad I did ;)

Don't wish you had :D - get them out the shed, ignore the wine snobbery from some parts (which personally speaking I find hilarious - if I drink something I enjoy I don't give a flying f*^k what anyone else thinks of the brew I've made ;) ) experiment with it as I've done and get a big pat on the back from your Mrs for making such a great bottle of her favourite tipple.

And then...........

when she's drank enough of said wine......

:hmm:

:drunk: :drunk: :drunk:

...take full advantage

Works for me

I wish :D

Any more than a glassful and the tired sleep fairies are making her snore like a grunter !!

I was just looking at another thread about making sparkling wine with white kits. I might give this one a go with the addition of your extra juices and a little sugar at the end to make it fizzy.

I made a 5 gallon batch last year and as usual the last bottle tasted the best, if i was to make this again i would lay it down for a year before bottling, forget the 3 week logo, its a decent wine if given enough time to age, cheers Dave
