Hi folks,
I've had some problems with my last two brews being markedly undercarbonated after priming for 2-4 weeks.
I'm using approximately 5-7g of caster sugar per litre. It's been quite a while since I bottled due to having a Cornie system!
Is this too little or is the caster sugar not as suitable as dextrose and hence needs a bit more?

in bottles at this time of year you need to give them more time to carbonate. 3 or 4 weeks it can take.

what type of beer ? mild , bitter , lager ? 5 g times 22l (bottling amount) is 110g while 7 g is 154g per brew so such a little makes a big difference . i do 150g for my wheats which is similar to lager but most bitters want maybe 100g .plus time

I've been having the same problem, like above I think its the time of year, average temp dropping. I've stuck mine some where nice and warm and plan to leave for 2 more weeks than normal

As for the amount of sugar, sounds like plenty to me. As pittsy says, depends on style but I've primed a 20L wheat with as little as 80g and it had decent fizz. Are you batch or bottle priming?

I'm definitely batch priming. I'll stick with 5-6g per litre and give it a bit more time.
