Hi all,

I have to admit that I am a bit stumped!

I have 2 brews conditioning at the moment, both in Kingkeg top tap barrels.

Because I have not used either for some time I replaced all the rubber seals on the s30 valves.

I also very carefully lubricated the Oring seals with vasaline and made sure both taps were fully tightened.

To my dismay I have 1 barrel maintaining pressure and one not and I am lost to know why?

What should I do next?

You need to find the leak i'm afraid....

Could the lid be done up too tight? (this can happen)

Otherwise mix some washing up liquid with some water and brush it around the likely places and see if you can see where the gas is escaping (looking for bubbles)..

Hi Wez,

Thanks for the advice, I will give it a go tomorrow and let you know

Ok - I have painted soapy water over the suspect places as you said and I now know where the leak is.

It is at the bottom of the brown band on the s30 valve.

Only problem is that I don't understand why as it is a brand new rubber.

The only theory I can come up with is that I might have scratched it with the knife I used to cut the old one off and the gas is traveling down this - Does this sound plausible?

Hi Tubby_Shaw,

Thanks for the advice - I will give it a go and let you know the result

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies - Think I have sorted it now - Cleaned the valve and put a new rubber seal on and fingers crossed it seems to be holding pressure now
