Hi all, and happy Easter.

I was enjoying some Coopers stout out of the keg yesterday. had around 4 pints then the keg lost all pressure and it gurgled when i tried to get another one out so i left it. Got up this morning and gave the cap on top a little turn and the tap a further little turn taking care not to over tighten it and damage the seals. just drew a tumbler off and it seems to have gassed up somewhat holding it's head for a good half hour. Does this suggest a leak. It's a new 40 pint brew and i have only had around 10 pints out of it.
I was thinking of taking the top cap off and putting some more vaseline around it. any more suggestions welcome.

You just need to add some CO2. You drew all the pressure out too quickly. Don't forget the brew carries on fermenting slowly so given a bit of time it pressurises again as you have found. Next time after a couple of pints, add some CO2 as you don't want to glug oxygen back in.

I thought it was strange to be adding co2 so soon thats why i thought there was a leak. I have never added co2 until it gets to at least half way down the barrell. Thanks for the re assurance thou.
I might just have one pint tonight and then thats it till next Friday so it should have prresurised fully by then before adding any co2.

How long does the brew carry on fermenting whilst in the barrell?
