Been doing the below one for a couple of years now

Cup of whiskey
1 tin of condenced milk
Glass of white wine
Chocolate powder (dissolve in a little hot water)
Vanilla essence
Add a ton of ice

Just wondered if anyone has any other recipes

Haven't done it myself, but have had Baileys made with the local poteen that we get here in Ireland. Would be interested to see if there are any receipes around.

I once watch a group of spaniards make sopa eléctrica. Basically you get augardente a rather potent spirit distilled from grape pressings   and it is mixed with sugar pieces of fruit and coffee. You then set fire to it and let it burn. What you are left with is a very palatable caramelized and very alcoholic syrup.

Much improvement on the augardente

That's what I thought when I watched them, but no it burns the sugar and leaves the alcohol. I must say augardente is a home distilled spirit and is very strong probably 50+% it is also foul. You wake up sweating the stuff with its smell coming out of your skin, how ever sopa eléctrica is thick almost cough syrup (but no menthol) soothing liquid. Very Nice. I'm sure a high abv Vodka would do the trick.

Cheers

Believe me seeing a group of spanish shellfish farmers doing that in your living room is very strange but absolutely fantastic. A few years ago when I had a shop, a spanish guy came in and we got chatting, he said he was from galicia and I said I had been there and mentioned sopa eléctrica. He said that it was his party trick and he had done it on the millenium.

But believe me the alcohol doesn't burn away.

Happy new year

This is one ive got :

nice and simple recipe for baileys :

cup (or mug) of good whisky
1 tin of condenced milk
3 eggs
1 pint of double cream
3 tbsp camp coffee
mix well (blender good and easy)

Alter the whiskey to taste .... if u like a more whisky taste add more or just use less if u dont .... ( this part is trial and error really ) .... my grans made this for years and it keeps for bout a week or so in the fridge.... only thing is that if its too cold it goes thicker so usually best made ... chilled then enjoy

before anyone asks the camp coffee is a must but u cant taste it when its made

my misses loves baileys how close to the real thing is it cause i might do a batch for her birthday???

the recipe i posted is a little darker in colour and maybe a little stronger with the whiskey but this can be altered ... if she likes baileys she will like this ... try it :thumb:

the recipe ive posted will make approx a pint and a half ... i wouldnt make it any bigger as its better making n drinking
