There was a bit on the BrewDog blog last month suggesting that they too had trouble sourcing enough of their staple hops.

Like the suggestion on your link that there are new varieties to play with though. Evolution is good...
 
farams are trying to establish exciting new english varietals too as well as some experimental us stuff

i said about the hop shortage over at jims a month ago..... i ordered for the year and only got 70% of what i wanted some hb shops are adopting a bit of a head in the sand"itll be fine " attitude

next year im tripling my order....

Nothing like a 'shortage scare' to drive demand.
Hop growers must be stoked selling all their 2012 stock already. :roll:

( I need to hire their pr guys)
 
This must be a British shortage as of now. So far I haven't heard anything over here, but I am a little worried. California, Washington, and Oregon have not gotten nearly the rain or snow we need this year. Last time this happened hops shot from 2.99 an ounce to 6.99 an ounce.
