Greeting all, I'm Simon from West Sussex.
I was doing quite a lot of brewing in the region of 30 years ago, starting with kits and then advancing to using extract. Like a lot of people I let the hobby lapse but returned to the kits a couple of years ago (as we now live in an age austerity). Yes, kits have come on but they are still bit light-weight so I'm ready to move back, as a first step, to the extract brews.
I always relied on the C.Berry book for the best advice but it now looks a bit dated against what is on offer on this site. With this advice and a greater range of brewing products it's time to get serious.
My prefered brews in my local area are Harvey's Best, Old Speckled Hen and Spitfire.
