I am looking for an apprentiship and so far have not found one i was just wondering if anybody on here knows of any garages in or around derbyshire that are looking for an apprentice thanks

Hello, sorry I do not know that area at all, but I have a few suggestions.

Apprenticeships.org may be a possibility, contact connexions if you are under 19 as they may be able to point you in the direction of further help, there is a company called babcock international (formally VT training) which may be able to place you in work based training up to the age of 25 last time I checked, be careful though as if you sign up to any of their training, you are tied into the company you end up working with for a certain length of time, if you leave early you may have to cover the cost of any course you take up. I would say a good point of call would be to use yell.com, do a search for garages etc in and around areas you are able to travel to and just give them a cold call.

Hope this helps

You could also look at the MOD (not actually armed forces) they do some very good apprenticeships. Although you may get to work on some very unusual vehicles.

Or even better, join the MOD as a member of the Armed forces and be on around £26,000 after three years as a mechanic! not sure how that pay compairs to what a civilian could earn in your area but the military have alot more benifits than just the pay.

Cheers
