Gregs been updating his site almost daily with more and more new stock and this one of his latest Click here: Foam Stuff, has one one used this? does it work? im planning on doing a Coopers Stout some time soon and have herd of its  volcanic  tendencies!! :D

Foreign extra stout (4kg of grain including extra roast barley etc) plus a can of Coopers Stout. S-04.
No extra foamy stuff required on this occasion.
Fear the Foam

That's the Brupaks FD20P antifoam . . . its true use is to prevent volcanic boil overs and you can see me using it in my latest brew day video . . . It does have a couple of other uses . . . when using air or O2 for aeration a ml or two added to the wort does stop the foam filling the FV before you have transferred all the wort to the FV . . . It also allows you to ferment 60L in a 65L FV . . . . A drop added to starters allows you to use continuous aeration in the starter without it making a horrible mess.

Its good stuff and it does work . . . and used properly does not affect head retention

Aha I see, I mistakenly thought it was a heading agent. This could be very useful for some of my warmer ale fermentations like the one pictured  It would free up the baby bath for other uses ;)

Edit: could it be used hot when draining wort from the kettle? I use the 'no chill' method whereby I transfer the wort to a sanitised 23L food grade jerrycan and cool overnight before pouring into fermenter and pitching. I get a lot of foaming problems, might see about ordering some online if this is the case.

Cheers
