no joke, its a real beer, although I wasnt too keen on it. on the label it says its a light almost lager style beer. Its clear and looks like a normal beer but the initial gulp and the aftertaste reminds me of guiness(in a bad way), which isnt really how its described. I got 4 bottles for my birthday 2 weeks ago and I've still got 2 in the fridge, I was drinking it and thinking, 'I've brewed a better kit than this stuff and these guys are meant to be real professional brewers'.
I think my Mum got it in a gift shop in Inverary (Argyll,Scotland) so that probably explains it, people will just buy it for a laugh because it's called sheepshagger. I'm sitting enjoying my milestones dasher the flasher kit that i bottled last september and that pisses all over it.

I think the clue is in the name and the fact it was from a gift shop, I would say it was brewed for tourists rather than real ale connoisseurs. You find too many beers when on holiday which look good but in actual fact are nothing more than Sh*t.

I bet the bottle had a cartoon sheep on it.

Oh a quick google search and ......

Suprise suprise a cartoon sheep. Bit more tasteful than I thought it was going to be, obviously unlike the beer.

Just been on their website, two of their other beers seem to have won awards, but obviously not that one.

It was the cairngorm brewery 'Nessies monster mash' that first got me into real beer all those years ago.
Happy days. :drink:

My local drinks shop has started to stock Cairngorm beers. I've been very tempted to buy some but not taken the plunge as yet.

I like the Cairngorm Brewerys stuff, it comes on fairly regularly at the local spoons. Sheepshagger's ok but the Wildcat's my favourite. Well worth a try.

I've tried it... it's nothing special but certainly not repulsive (unlike that cartoon sheep, I mean, she's not even wearing make up. Little bit of eyeliner would go down a treat... not to mention some sussies........)

You've never mentioned a Welsh bloodline before Tony.

Any booze cruisers ever tried EastEnders' “Dog's Bollocks” range of wines from their Calais warehouse? Acceptable plonk but you have to buy some just for the label - same principle?

Of course, this was before I got back into home brewing and found (for example) I could make WOW for around 45p a bottle :drunk:

haha sheep sussies... they should put them in a box set with a bottle of the stuff! They'd make a fortune i reckon lol

:D My dad is Welsh, comes from Skewen in S Wales.

I think the family invented the Welsh Leisure Centre!

Funnily enough we're heading to the Cairngorms area on Saturday

Buying bottles of ale when we were on holiday last summer was what got me started brewing my own again after a gap on nearly 40 years

Mrs C and I had some bottles from a small local brewery and she said 'you used to brew stuff better than this years ago' .... once back home 'The Den Brewery' was started  so they did me a bit of a favour
