Ive had some nettle wine in some DJ's that has done its biz and i left it too clear it must have been there about a month now, i added some finings to now avail and have left it now to see if it will clear. IS this warm going to have an affect on it

I did a Beaverdale Pinot Grigot in March time which turned out exceptionally clear.

I did the same one at the end of June and it just hasnt cleared anywhere near the same - its now in bottles but still cloudy

The warm weather definately makes a difference.

Temperature does affect clearing times. Firstly make sure that your wine is properly degassed, if not it will slow the clearing process. Secondly if possible put it onto a concrete floor. this will act as a heat sink, cooling your wine which in turn increases the rate at which the yeast settle :thumb:

So why have you bottled it yet? :wha:

Ignore any timescale the instructions might give, these things take as long as they take.

But yes, at the moment fermentation is rapid but clearing is taking much longer.
