Broke the missus laptop screen and need it repaired ! Anyone here able to do so ? Cheers.

If you weren't as far as hull i would happily oblige. I would talk you through it by PM but unfortunately I'm as useful as a chocolate teapot when it comes to to support via message or phone. I need to be hands on.

The good thing about laptop screens is that they are for the most part like changing a light bulb. No De-soldering or hot air guns. All you need is the code off the back of the old one then get on ebay. 30 - 40 quid depending on the model for a new one. Unplug the old, plug in the new. with a few screws of course.

If you do get a quote for a fix, make sure you don't get mugged off. It is literally a 5 minute job(once the new screen is acquired). DON'T be told otherwise. Somewhere like pc world will absolutely rob you on this given the chance.

I've replaced the screen on my Nokia, it was a bit fiddly but very easy to do, go for it. :thumb:
