Anyone else fed up with NEIPA?

I also remember it being incredibly thick and cloying. Very unpleasant. Had the worst hangover of my life the next day, too - had the sensation of still being able to feel the consistency of that 'beer' all through my digestive system, and lining the inside of my stomach. Vile.

I read somewhere people are developing hop sensitivities, which can develop into allergies, from all the hops they've consumed. They drink yet another mega Ibu IPA and get itchy eyes, sinus problems, etc.

Drank some from a micro brewery in New England last year and to be honest it tasted very simalar to my home brew I made. I think it's a novelty beer and folk will move back to their old favourites. There is room for them on the market though but need to pick a good one which are not usually cheap. I buy from Siren they have a number of hazy beers which do taste good.

Tell you something after drinking a single pint of some hoppy beers I get a burning like indigestion not all the time but it's happened a few times. I can't narrow it down to a single hop. It happens enough to make me think.

Yeah sorry hazy ipas are here to stay and likely is or will be the biggest selling style of craft beer for a while. Even mister classic styles says this is what everyone wants and brews it mostly at his brewery.

Also they have been around for a while now too, and it's not the one hit wonder like a black ipa or gose.

I'm not a huge fan either. I've been to a few 'Hop City' events at Northern Monk and almost every brewery turns up with hazy low IBU tropical fruit bombs. It's a pity because I love double and triple IPAs with well balanced high IBU, good malt backbone, loads of hops and high alcohol. They are getting increasingly harder to find so good job I can brew them myself!

That's the one, great style but getting difficult to find now.

It could be argued that these were the forefathers of neipa's.

I'd disagree with that, the only thing they really have in common is lots of hops. Brewdog's Hardcore was a great example of that style (ah Brewdog, before they went to ****...) but was clear, super bitter and resinous, not soft or tropical fruity at all.

I was thinking earlier even before citra and mosaic and galaxy were even available.

When could you last go into a pub and ask for a pint of bitter?

At a brewery where I used to be a tour guide their "best bitter" is now a golden ale - same recipe but different marketing

Just finished a Galaxy & Amarillo hopped NEIPA. It was very nice, a light and gentle introduction to an evenings quaffing.

For me it's a style that I appreciate the effort and techniques required to produce a good one. Personally I can only drink one maybe two at a push. I find them very filling and sometimes too sweet.
Also there seems to be a cross over of styles with a hazy IPA. I prefer to drink a hazy IPA as it's lighter and more enjoyable. This again is down to personally choice.
A style I am not a big fan of is a sour. I just don't get them. Low alcohol fruit drink.

Agreed. I like a highly hopped hazy IPA or Pale but I don't enjoy the sweeter & fuller body of some of these beers, leave it for the stouts.

Same for me ,heavily hopped beers give me heartburn .

People rave about Jaipur. “It’s the recipe for the original Punk IPA” people reckon. I’ve had it twice and both times I found it unbalanced and bland.

The first generation of Jaipur was great. Everything else after that has been poor. Same with punk IMO
