i have just bottled my first beer kit and i used thin bleach at 2.5ml to a liter in an 80 liter plastic bin, thats 200ml in total.

i rinsed each bottle out 5 times with cold water filling each time, then a good shake each time..

i have since read you need to rinse with hot water to get the bleach off, do you think i will be ok with the cold water rinse this time, i did have a smell and couldnt smell any bleach once the bottles dried prior to bottling my beer.

Thanks Pal, but in future i might as well do the first rinse with Hot, then the next 3 with cold..

I usually rinse with cold. If it's good enough for cleaning/rinsing the beer lines in a pub it's good enough for me :thumb:

There is some information on here suggesting that a mild solution of sodum metabisluphite will neutralise the bleach, save youo a lot of water and time for the rinsing operation if true :)

Take look at the sticky about sanitisers for more information.
